Case Study: 1st Gen Entrepreneurs
1st Gen Entrepreneurs is a community for entrepreneurs who are the first in their family to start a business, and so lack the resources and support of those who come from a family of experienced business people. The community’s founder, Andrew McIntosh, relies heavily on LinkedIn and other social media platforms to promote 1st Gen, which requires creating a LOT of content.
😨 Andrew's Problem
Andrew McIntosh, founder of 1st Gen Entrepreneurs set himself a goal: To post daily on LinkedIn to market his new venture, a community for entrepreneurs who lack the resources and support of those who come from a family of entrepreneurs.Andrew is a skilled content creator, but after several months, the constant grind became a burden and a source of stress and anxiety. He began to dread Sundays, when, like it or not, he had to churn out yet another week’s worth of posts. It was stressful, time consuming, and exhausting.
🤔 How We Helped
Andrew began meeting with one of our expert interviewers once a month, first to decide what he wanted to create content about, and then to record an unscripted, conversational interview to capture his thoughts, ideas, opinions, and insights. The process was easy, enjoyable, and required very little prep on Andrew’s part. All he had to do was show up and have a conversation!
🙂 The Outcome
Today, Andrew has all the content he needs to post on LinkedIn, YouTube, his website, and other channels he uses to engage his audience and grow his business. No more endless running on the content treadmill. No more late nights struggling to churn out more content. Just a 60-minute conversation once a month, and Andrew is good to go.

Case Study: Patricia Skalka, Award-Winning Author
Patricia Skalka is the author of the award-winning, 7-book Dave Cubiak Door County Mystery series. For her work, Patricia has been awarded both the Midwest Book Award for Best Thriller/Mystery, as well as a Edna Ferber Fiction Book Award. And last, but not least, during the pandemic, USA Today selected the first title in the series – Death Stalks Door County, as the book to represent Wisconsin in its special feature: “50 States/50 Books to Read.”
😨 Patricia's Problem
To promote her books, Patricia gives talks at libraries and bookstores and makes herself available for interviews with local (Milwaukee and Door County, WI) outlets. But beyond her website, Patricia did not have the content she needed to promote her books on social media to mystery novel fans around the world. And so, her audience remained relatively small and localized to the Midwest of the United States.
🤔 How We Helped
First, we sat down with Patricia to talk about her goals and to understand what makes her books special and appealing for her readers. With Patricia’s help, we planned out several video clips to highlight the series, the main character (homicide detective Dave Cubiak), the location (Door County, Wisconsin), and brief plot summary of each book in the series, and more.We also helped Patricia get the equipment she needed (microphone; camera; lighting) and advised her in creating a background for recording video. Then, we recorded an interview with Patricia to capture her talking with clarity and passion about her work. Finally, we turned the interview into dynamic video clips, including imagines and video b-roll to enhance the viewing experience and bring Patricia’s series to life.
🙂 The Outcome
Now, Patricia has plenty of video content to publish on her website and on Facebook (her main social media channel for communicating with fans).Patricia’s publisher, the University of Wisconsin Press, has created a webpage to host some of the videos and create more excitement around the release of the second book in the series, Death at Gills Rock, as an audio book.

Case Study: Lance daSilva, Realtor
Lance daSilva is a Realtor based in Bloomington, Indiana. Like his colleagues and competitors, Lance is active on social media, relying on Facebook and Instagram, especially, to promote himself and connect with home buyers and sellers in the Bloomington area.
😨 Lance's Problem
Lance is one of more than 400 Realtors in a town of about 80,000 residents–a red ocean if there ever was one!Competition is fierce, and Lance needed a way to stand out from his competitors. Specifically, he needed video content that could showcase his knowledge of the local real estate market and, even more importantly, content that would tell his story and help people get to know Lance as a person. But as a busy Realtor, Lance didn’t have the time or skillset to produce video content on his own.
🤔 How We Helped
We began scheduling monthly sessions with Lance to interview him about topics he knew his audience wants to learn about. Sometimes Lance includes another person in the interviews, and sometimes Lance even plays the roll of the interviewer!Instead of struggling to churn out mediocre content that would just blend into the background, all Lance had to do was show up, be himself, and have interesting and fun conversations. And then we took it from there, turning the raw material from the interviews into video clips featuring Lance at his unscripted best!
🙂 The Outcome
Today, Lance has all the content he needs to post on LinkedIn, YouTube, his website, and other channels he uses to engage his audience and grow his business. No more endless running on the content treadmill. No more late nights struggling to churn out more content. Just a 60-minute conversation once a month, and Andrew is good to go.
